Help to Meet Your Scrapbooking Goal

I found this clever goal tracker online. You set a goal of how many page layouts you want to complete, then track it with your personal ticker. This is my personal ticker. As you can see, I have a ton of scrapping to do. You can watch my progress by returning to this post any time.

You can create a ticker of your very own here.

You can do it!

Sketch #10

Groovy circles give this retro, 1-photo sketch life. It's just begging for your personal touch.

This layout can be made easily using Coluzzle's Large Circle (8-3/4'') template, Fiskars 12-Inch Euro Paper Trimmer and EK Success' Larger Corner Rounder Punch

Don't be shy...email your completed layout for the world to see and have people call your work "far out."

Peace,
Colleen

Sketch #9

This sketch accommodates 4 photos - (1) 5"x7" and (3) 2"x2". I've used colorful brads for the embellishments. I felt it lent a masculine touch. But you can substitute buttons, flowers or whatever to change the feel.

These tools will make completing this layout a snap: Fiskars 12-Inch Euro Paper Trimmer, EK Success' Medium Corner Rounder Punch, EK Success' Small Corner Rounder Punch. Karen Foster's ribbon brads add the finishing touch.

I can't wait to see what you creative scrappers can make with my sketch. Remember to send your completed layouts to me for posting.

Colleen

Sketch #8

Another simple layout sketch that can be finished in under 20 minutes. Cut a large Circle out of plain cardstock. Attach it to a sheet of patterned cardstock. Add an unmounted 5" x 7" photo. Cut a large arrow out of cardstock (or use a chipboard arrow) and attach to page. Finally, add a title and your journaling. Presto! You have a finished layout.

Send me your finished layout to be showcased here.

Enjoy the holiday,
Colleen

Sketch #7

This fun fiesta inspired layout has room for 6 photos. The yellow paper (or ribbon) strips are where your journaling belongs.

Send me your interpretation of my sketch and your layout will be posted for all to see.

Have fun,

You can find scrapbooking layout ideas anywhere using a scraplift. Scraplifting is a technique where you use other scrapbooker's completed layouts or sketches. Advertisements, DVD covers, book covers, CD covers and more can also be used for scraplifting.

Sketch #2 (12" x 12") is scraplifted from the DVD cover of Liberty Stands Still.

If you use my sketch, please send me a photo of your finished page. I'd love to showcase your work here.

Year-end Teacher Gift

My daughter has an amazing teacher. She truly treasures her students. I wanted to give her something special for all her unbelievable dedication throughout the year. The idea struck me, I'm good at scrapbooking; why not make a scrapbook for her?

I visited my local Dollar Tree store and was happy to find a small, cloth-covered photo album with room for 24 photos. There just happens to be 24 students in my daughter's classroom. The album has 4"x6" pages.

I sent a letter home with each student asking for two things; a wallet-sized photo and a handwritten note from the student. I included writing prompts, such as: "I love Mrs. [Teacher] because...,"My favorite thing about Mrs. [Teacher] is...," and "Mrs. [Teacher] is great because..." to give the kids some ideas of what to write.

The kids really got into this! Their notes are so adorable. I can't wait to present the completed album.

Fab Organization Find

I have a new organization tool to share -The ScrapRack. The ScrapRack keeps all your stickers, brads, flowers, eyelets, buttons and more all in one place. I just received mine yesterday for Mother's day. I don't have all my scrapbooking supplies organized yet, but I can already tell this is the best scrapbooking storage system I've ever owned (trust me, the list is a long one). My photo shows the Embellishment Storage pages and ScrapRack Base Unit with Wings.
